Coaching

Coaching for worship leaders who are carrying a lot.

Most of the worship leaders I talk to serve churches of 75 to 300 people. A lot of them are volunteers or bivocational. They have more ideas than time, and nobody on staff who really understands what they do on a Sunday.

I have been that person. This is the coaching I wish I had: a working worship pastor in your corner, looking at your actual team, your actual rehearsals, and your actual Sundays.

Who it's for

Let's make sure this is a fit.

Coaching is a real commitment of your time and money. Here is how I think about who it helps.

This is for you if

You lead worship and nobody talks to you about it.

  • Your church runs somewhere between 75 and 300 people
  • You are a volunteer, bivocational, or the only person who does what you do
  • You have a list of things you want to fix and no clear place to start
  • You want honest feedback from someone who has stood where you stand
  • You are willing to do the work between calls

This is probably not for you if

You want a course, a template, or a quick fix.

  • You are looking for a program to complete at your own pace (the courses in the store are better for that)
  • You want someone to tell you what to do without looking at your situation first
  • You cannot make time for two calls a month and the work in between
  • You need help with something outside worship ministry (I will tell you on the free call if I am not the right person)

Three ways to work together

Pick the track that fits your season.

Every track starts the same way: a free 30-minute call so we both know it is a fit before any money changes hands.

One-time intensive

Worship Ministry Reset

$250 one time

For the leader who needs a clear plan more than ongoing support. We go deep once, I write it down, and we check in a month later to see how it landed.

  • One 90-minute deep-dive call
  • A written reset plan within a week
  • One 30-minute follow-up call 30 days later

Monthly coaching

Worship Leader Coaching

$600 per month, ground floor rate

The ground floor rate is for my first 3 coaching clients. After that it is $750 per month. Month to month, cancel anytime.

Ongoing, one-on-one coaching built around your team and your Sundays.

  • Two 45-minute calls per month with me
  • Async voice and text access between calls for questions
  • A written plan after your first call
  • I review one rehearsal or service recording per month

For pastors

Church-Paid Coaching

$900 per month

Everything in monthly coaching, plus a quarterly 30-minute call with the senior pastor and an invoice or receipt the church can expense. Month to month, cancel anytime.

If your church would pay for this, send your pastor to the page for pastors. It explains what they get and how it works.

How it works

Three steps, no pressure.

1

Book a free 30-minute call

We talk through where your ministry is right now and what you want to change. No pitch. If coaching is not the right next step, I will say so.

2

Pick a track

The Reset, monthly coaching, or church-paid coaching. You choose what fits your season and your budget, and you can change tracks later.

3

First call within two weeks

Once you sign up, we get your first call on the calendar within two weeks and you leave it with a written plan.

About Patrick

Not a guru. A worship pastor.

I have been leading worship since I was 13, which is more than 30 years now. I moved to New York City in 2005 and have been a worship pastor here since, helping plant over a dozen churches and building teams from scratch, often with volunteers who had never played on a stage before.

I still lead worship every week at my own church. That matters for coaching, because the advice you get is what I am doing right now, not what I remember doing.

I am a husband and a dad to three boys, so I also understand the math of doing this with a full life.

Questions

Things people usually ask.

Is this for volunteers?

Yes. Most of the leaders I work with are volunteers or bivocational, serving churches of 75 to 300 people. The coaching is built around the time you actually have, not the time a full-time staff member would have.

What if my church pays?

That is what Church-Paid Coaching is for. It is $900 per month, it includes everything in monthly coaching plus a quarterly 30-minute call with your senior pastor, and your church gets an invoice or receipt it can expense. There is a page written for pastors at nycworshipleader.com/pastors that you can send them.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Monthly coaching and church-paid coaching are month to month. Cancel anytime, and your coaching runs through the end of the month you have paid for. The Reset is a one-time purchase.

Do you do in-person coaching in NYC?

Yes, when our schedules allow it. Most coaching happens on video so it fits around Sundays and your work week, but if you are in New York City we can meet in person when it works for both of us.

What do we actually work on?

Whatever is in the way of your ministry being healthy. That is usually some mix of building and leading a volunteer team, rehearsals, setlists and transitions, how you work with your pastor, and your own sustainability so you do not burn out. We decide the focus together on the first call and write it down.

Is there a free option?

Yes. Start with the free worship ministry assessment at nycworshipleader.com/assessment, then book a free 30-minute call. Plenty of people get what they need from those two things and never pay me anything, and that is fine with me.

Next step

Start with the free call.

Thirty minutes, no pitch. Tell me what is going on in your ministry and we will figure out the right next step together, even if that step is not coaching.
