For senior pastors

Your worship leader is carrying a lot.

You know it. They plan the set, run the rehearsal, recruit the drummer, fix the sound, and lead the room on Sunday, often as a volunteer or on top of another job.

You want to help them. But you may not have the bandwidth, or the background in worship ministry specifically, to coach them well. That is where I come in.

What you get

Support for them. Peace of mind for you.

For your worship leader

A worship leader with a plan

After the first call, your worship leader gets a written plan for their team and their Sundays. Every month after that, we work the plan together and adjust it as things change.

For you

A quarterly 30-minute update call

Once a quarter, you and I get on a call. You hear what we are working on, I hear what you are seeing from your seat, and we make sure the coaching is serving the church and not just the worship leader.

For the church

Fewer Sunday surprises

Healthier teams, clearer rehearsals, and a worship leader who is not carrying everything alone. The goal is a worship ministry you do not have to worry about.

What the coaching covers

The parts of worship ministry nobody trains you for.

Most worship leaders learned the music somewhere. Almost none of them were taught how to lead the ministry. That is what we work on.

We decide the focus together on the first call, write it down, and work through it two calls a month, with voice and text access in between.

  • Building and leading a volunteer team: recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and the hard conversations
  • Rehearsals that work: getting the team ready without extra midweek practices
  • Setlists and transitions: planning sets with intention and moving between songs without the awkward moments
  • Working with you: how the worship leader and the pastor stay on the same page about Sundays
  • Sustainability: leading from a healthy place so you are not replacing them in two years
  • Honest feedback: I review one rehearsal or service recording a month and tell them what I see

The offer

One line item. One less thing to carry.

Have your worship leader take the free worship ministry assessment. It takes a few minutes and gives you both a clearer picture of where things stand.

Or book a free 30-minute call with me. You can be on it, your worship leader can be on it, or both. No pitch, just a conversation about what would actually help.

Who you are trusting with this

I sit on your side of the table too.

I'm Patrick Murphy. I have been leading worship since I was 13, and I have served as a staff worship pastor in New York City churches for more than 20 years, helping plant over a dozen of them along the way. I am on a church staff right now, which means I know what it is like to manage a budget, report to a lead pastor, and answer for what happens on Sunday.

I will not coach your worship leader against you. The quarterly call exists so we stay on the same page.

Want to talk it through first?

Send me a message. I read every one myself, and I am happy to answer questions about how the coaching works, how billing works, or whether it is the right fit for your church.
